Walton’s Farm Practices
Turkey labeling is confusing. Therefore, we are explaining our own turkey-raising practices in order for you to understand the difference between what we do and what others may mean by the same terminology. When purchasing your Thanksgiving turkey, you will want these questions answered to fully grasp exactly what kind of care it has been given.
Organically Certified Barley Grass
Organically certified barley grass contains beta carotene, vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, pantothenic acid, and folic acid. Minerals present include potassium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, and magnesium. Other constituents are chlorophyll, amino acids, protein, fiber, and enzymes. barley grass is known to support a healthy intestinal microbe population and help rid the body of accumulated toxins.
Organically Certified Red Peppers
We also supplement the diet with organically certified red peppers to keep the poultry immune system happy.
Our Feed are Non-GMO, which means none of our food product have been genetically modified. GMO food are created in a laboratory using genetic modification techniques by removing one or more genes from the DNA of another organism, such as a bacterium, virus, animal, or plant and “recombine” them into the DNA of the plant they want to alter.
Organically Certified Diet
The turkeys are fed an organically certified diet, which means the feed is required be non-GMO and each ingredient is also grown organically, using no chemical additives on the land where it is grown. In addition to this, we also supplement the diet with organically certified red peppers to keep the poultry immune system happy. During the winter, when turkeys are still enjoying frolicking and foraging in the snow, this may not provide enough greens. Therefore, we grow our own organically certified barley grass inside our growroom and are fed to them.
We have really appreciated the eggs from Walton’s Organics. What a pleasure it is to have access to humanely raised organic farm eggs. The eggs have always been fresh and delicious and everyone in our family loves them. Lately we’ve been even giving them as gifts to friends. After all, just about everyone loves fresh organic farm eggs and what a nice simple way to say “I’m thinking about you today!”
Thank you guys for the GREAT EGGS!
I’ve been eating them for awhile now, and I’m really happy to once again enjoy the taste and flavor of real eggs.
They are so much better than the eggs I got at the supermarket. Your product is such a great find. Thanks Again.
